She is approachable, funny, kind and down to earth! We hope you all enjoy her interview.

What made you decided not to go down a traditional Nutritionist route of having an office and clients and instead set up your YouTube channel and the HGG community?
When I first became a Registered Dietitian I had traditional nutrition office jobs and realized that long-term that was not a fulfilling career path for me. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to do things “my own way”. Our business will be 7 years this January and it has really evolved over time based on trial and error, what works, what doesn’t and what brings us happiness. I love that our business (being online) can reach and hopefully help people from all over the world!
How would you describe your philosophy towards food?
Eat real food, mostly plants and make up your own food rules. Do what works best for your body. It’s okay if how you eat does not fit a label. I don’t believe in diets or deprivation, rather I believe in nourishing yourself in a way that is realistic, simple and delicious!
What does optimal health mean to you?
To me optimal health means eating and living in a way that brings you joy and also helps you be the best, healthiest version of yourself.
Which is your favourite recipe that you've created on your website or YouTube channel and why?
We have hundreds of recipes so it’s hard to pick a favorite! We eat soup and nourish bowls at home every week so those are probably my favorite!
If you could have one super power what would it be?
The ability to not be affected by stress would be nice!
One superfood you can't live without?
It would probably have to be Cacao or Dark Chocolate. However, coconut and hemp hearts are a close second.
Who inspires you?
So many people! Really anyone who is working hard to pursue their dream whether that be running a blog, a business and / or raising a family in a way that is genuine and authentic to them. There is inspiration everywhere.
What are you grateful for?
I am grateful that I get to run a business with my husband and create content I love that helps people. I am also grateful that we are expecting our first baby arriving spring 2018!
Thank you so much to Megan for her inspiring answers! We will be hearing more from Megan next week as she will be writing a guest post for us all about her fantastic new juicing book.
