We are super excited to dedicate this months Sustainable Sunday to a very special brand that we recently discovered, whose commitment to recycling and environmental conservation is spectacular.
Ecoalf is a fashion based in Madrid, Spain and prides itself on quality and design by utilising recycled fabrics!! We are both blown away by the quality of their clothes and the dedication the brand has to reusing and repurposing so many different materials. It’s quite hard to believe that fishing nets, plastic bottles and used tyres can be turned into fashion garments! Have no fear for the brand ship within Europe and to the US.
Windbreaker: Can you believe that this jacket is made from 100% recycled fabric derived from fishing nets? Honestly we still can’t believe it! The quality of the jacket is amazing, it's light weight, smooth, and water resistant. Ecoalf Foundation is a non profit organisation on a mission to ‘Upcycle the Oceans’, working with Spanish companies to perfect their manufacturing process to turn waste collected from oceans into thread and fabric.
T-Shirt (similar): Made from regenerated cotton. According to a report published in the Guardian newspaper British people were expected to throw away 235m items of unwanted clothing, ending up in landfill in Spring of this year. We were thrilled to learn that Ecoalf use recycled cotton in their t-shirts and jumpers. Not only does recycling cotton cut down on waste, but the manufacturing process uses -17% less energy consumption and 80% less water consumption.
Sweatshirt: Made with recycled cotton. We were obviously drawn to the meaningful message displayed on the sweater “There is No Planet B” which we are proud to wear. The website features this sweater in many different colours and is currently on sale! Sorry to sound like a broken record but the quality of this sweatshirt is amazing, even after a few washes it feels like brand new.
Backpack (similar): Another recycled masterpiece! This backpack is so light and yet feels incredibly durable. It is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. For every 70 PET plastic bottles collected 1 meter of Ecoalf fabric is created.
Noteworthy accessories: Reusable cups by Keep Cup, stainless steel food container by A Slice of Green, portable stainless steel Presse Coffee Press by Bobble. The Bobble Presse allows you to brew, press and drink on the go! No plastic or paper filter waste and the insulated wall keeps your coffee hot for ages. We are obsessed.
August is drawing to a close and we have to admit we are excited for Autumn! These outfits are definitely transitional pieces that will see you through the Autumn months. We thoroughly enjoyed filming outside for this feature and connecting with nature and we are not afraid to admit that we were sipping on organic pumpkin spice decaf coffee!!
